(Friday) Yesterday we finished the story in class. Thank you to all for reading and sharing the ending together. Here are your final two assignments to wrap up this novel:
(Wednesday) Read chapter 15 and complete the chapter 15 worksheet. Try your best with the tricky vocab terms. We'll go over them in class tomorrow. Focus on the three questions.
(Wednesday) We read chapter 14 yesterday in class. Here's the ch. 14 worksheet to go with it. (Update. Just complete the first page. The second page goes with chapter 12. Thank you Adrian) As we've done before, look up the five vocabulary words in a dictionary. Some words may have several definitions. Write down the definition that you think best matches how it is used in the story.
(Tuesday) Complete the Antagonist - Protagonist worksheet. We worked on some of this in class yesterday, finish the rest.

Week 10: May 18 - May 22
(Friday)
(Wednesday) We are moving right along with this story. Read chapter 11 complete chapter 11 worksheet before tomorrow’s zoom class. Read the chapter and discuss the questions with your classmates if you’d like. Set up your own Zoom Book club, with your parents’ permission of course. Skip the vocabulary words. We’ll discuss them tomorrow. Use good descriptive words and effort with question #4. You should use most of the space provided. Be prepared to share your amazing answer.
(Tuesday) Read chapter 10. We will review yesterday’s worksheets of LW&W and read portions of chapter 10 together during tomorrow's 10:00 class. Print and complete this chapter 10 worksheet. We will discuss and complete most of it during class. Look up the seven vocabulary words in a dictionary. Some words will have several definitions. Write down the definition that you think best matches how it is used in the story.

Friday:
- Ch. 17 worksheet. It's a brief climax and synopsis (summary) two page write-up. The directions should provide you all the information you need to complete it. If not, let me know.
- Take an A/R test on the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. Print your results and include it in your drop-off packet.

- Here is the Brave Assignment we started yesterday in class. Look over yesterday's posting to remind you what we discussed. The first two pages will explain all. Follow the directions. Your black and white copy of the second page doesn't show the vibrant colors, but it does list what each color means. Your shield of bravery needs to be in full color. We will share our shield of bravery along with your write up Tuesday in class.

- Chapter 9 grammar worksheet. A slight departure from the other worksheets. It's a review of adjectives. Follow the instructions.

Week 9: May 11 - May 15
Friday:
- Read chapter 8 & 9. Worksheets will be posted shortly...or not. Worksheets will be posted shortly...or not. Whoops forgot to post this worksheet. Well I guess it can wait until Monday. ...you're welcome.
- This Depth and Complexity worksheet will be used for a small group and all class discussion today. This worksheet lists the groups you have all been assigned. Print the worksheets before class. Come up with some connections with the story and the prompt you've been assigned, either Patterns, Ethics or Multiple Perspectives. Come prepared with 3-4 connections before class if you are able. Feel free to call members of your group to work on this together if you'd like. We will talk about this and flush out more answers and connections together. Thank you all in advance for being prepared and contributing in today's discussion.

- Read chapter 5 of The Lion, Witch & the Wardrobe before class. There will be a worksheet posted after class (or not) depending on how much we cover today. Finish up your Ch. 4 Turkish Delight drawing and description from yesterday. I look forward to seeing your creative and delicious desert concoctions (creations).

When you come across a possible answer to a question, write down the answer then continue with the story. The same strategy work with the vocabulary words too. Read over the list of words. When you come across them in the story try to figure out their meaning using context clues as we've done before. We will discuss some of these terms and the questions in class, time permitting. The Turkish Delight chapter 4 worksheet will become obvious when you read that chapter. Have fun with creating your own spectacular treat. Be prepared to describe your yummy treat tomorrow in class.
